Redirect links - Queue to prevent accidental DDOS

Problem:
When sending out communications to large organizations the load on a site linked via Moveworks can cause significant strain on the linked site if a link goes out in a mass communication.  We observed this where a 3rd party site went down due to high traffic.

Solution:

Introduce a Queue system that can be configured when sending campaigns.  The concept would work like this.

  1. The mass communication is setup and sent out.
  2. The user receives the communication, and clicks a link.
  3. The redirect link shows a page saying you are 1,204 in the queue please wait.
    1. There might be better options but a limit based on how many visits and how long should be an option for the campaign.
  4. Assuming we set the limit to 50 users at 60 seconds.
    1. User waits in the queue until the users ahead of them are redirected.
    2. If any users leave the site, it removes them from the queue.
  5. After waiting a short period the user is redirected to the site when their queue reservation has completed.

I found this solution after seeing Sideshow collectables site use it for giveaway link management, and it works extremely well.
