Enhance outage alerts to include ACL related failures

When permission ingestion is failing Answers may serve knowledge to users that is not meant for them. While the links to the documents still validate the access, the summary may already contain information that is not to be shown to the users.

To monitor this and avoid potential data breach issues the customers should be informed about such failures.

Any progress on this? I still need information on outages and this especially can turn into a data privacy issue really fast.

I stumbled on this thread by chance so apologies for a long over-due response.

When we turn on permission ingestion, we compare access between a user and the content (e.g. a knowledge article).  If there is no explicit overlap, then we will not show the article.

This means that the expected failure mode when permission ingesting is failing to either
    a) not show an article OR
    b) show an article based on the most recent information.

    Hi @jgo

has this been changed in the last 10 months to the behavior you describe? If not then I cannot confirm this.

Behavior hasn’t change in the last 10 months but individual bot configuration could for whether or not permission ingestion is enabled.

If behavior doesn’t seem to match what I described above, it’s a little hard to speculate without a specific example to investigate.  Our Support team would be able to better assist in that scenario.

We have a Support Case and I was asked o create a feature request which is what I did. Now I am being told I should contact support. I don’t want to go in circles.
