Duplicate Content / articles is returned as Bot Responses

I've noticed on several occasions that the bot is returning the same article multiple times within the same set of responses. This occurs because the bot is designed to analyze and break down articles into manageable snippets. Consequently, it identifies different sections of the same article as separate relevant answers to a user's query.

This issue has been a source of confusion for our end users, leading them to click on what appears to be distinct results, only to be directed to the same article repeatedly. To enhance the user experience, I suggest implementing a filtering mechanism. This would enable the bot to recognize when snippets originate from the same article and prevent it from returning these as separate results.

Could we explore this solution to improve our service and ensure a more efficient interaction for our users?

Hey Priya, are you using classic or co-pilot experience? I have seen with co-pilot it does a lot better with aggregating the data like you mentioned and instead of surfacing articles, it uses Gen AI to respond while citing the sources (articles) that it is grabbing the information from. Even though it is taking snippets like before, from the user experience, they do not see that right away and is less confusing unless they go deeper and look for the citations.

Hi @jctang : We are using classic version. I agree it works better in the copilot version.

Hi Priya, this is good feedback.  This is also a really key explanation from you:

This occurs because the bot is designed to analyze and break down articles into manageable snippets. Consequently, it identifies different sections of the same article as separate relevant answers to a user's query.

We’ll keep this in mind but at the very least, glad to hear that the Copilot experience is at least able to address this in the meantime.
