Hi ,

As we have multiple Moveworks instances within our organization, I would like to explore the possibility of configuring distinct color schemes for each instance. This would enable quick visual identification at a glance.

Regards,

Rajeev

Hi Rajiv — thanks for the idea\! Quick question before we evaluate this further: each Moveworks instance already has its own unique name in the URL. Can you help us understand why that isn't sufficient for distinguishing between instances at a glance? That context would help us assess the right approach here.

Hi Ajay,

A glance at 3 extra letters in the URL is easily overlooking those. Changing the background color is an instant indicator of which environment you are needing no extra verification. It reduces the risk immediately to update the wrong system.

Please find below also AI summary of a review of several studies proving the same.

“Color signaling works better than text in many scenarios because it is processed faster by the human brain, acts as an instant communicator, and can convey complex, emotional information immediately without requiring deep cognitive analysis. While text is essential for precision, color is superior for grabbing attention,”

I second this. This feature is specifically useful for admins who often have multiple MW instances open in the same browser.

Business users who’re given access to MW sandboxes for UAT can also benefit from this - particularly as the web-assistant interface becomes more popular and powerful than MS Teams/Slack.

Yes, they can use URLs and browser tab groups etc, but changing the theme/branding of each MW instance is the fool-proof solution to avoid admins mistakenly making changes in the wrong instance.

In the ServiceNow world, this is standard practice as the theme for each SN instance is configurable.
