Can a “Show me my approvals” button be created that will list all pending approvals for the last 180 days? (as opposed to the last 30 days when typing “Show me my approvals”)

Summary from Moderator

When building an approval reminders use case for native approvals built into the product, we want to be able to trigger the Enterprise Approvals Approval Queue experience from an Event-Triggered Path. How do we do this?

Adding to this, having the option to trigger more native features within a Creator Studio use case would be very helpful. Today, we can trigger forms and knowledge, as well as any custom APIs we configure. This additional functionality would help with building even more custom workflows and use cases.

@Alex.Ladines interesting idea. Is the goal to extend the native approvals capability to pull back approvals for the last 180 days instead of 30 days? I’m not sure this is a Creator Studio thing, it sounds like it’s a part of the core product.

Or are you talking about custom approval systems that you’ve integrated with Creator Studio Events. Would love to learn more.

Thanks @Ajay Merchia . The goal involves two things:

1) Create a “Show Me My Approvals” button as opposed to the current state which is to type “Show me my approvals” in the chat.

2) Extend the results to 180 days from 30 days (whether this results from typing out “Show me my approvals” or a “Show Me My Approvals” button; ideally the button)

Thoughts?

  1. Where would that button go? Would the bot send it after every single message? Seems confusing.
  2. I would break this into a separate product idea that targets our native approval integrations. Something like “Option to configure custom approval lookup period” — who is even approving things from 6 months ago? I get the desire to configure a longer lookback, but we did an analysis of this with some design partner customers — if something isn’t approved within a month of creation, it is usually never approved and just sits as a dead record. The user finds a workaround and no longer needs something approved

Hi @Ajay Merchia ,

  1. Using CREST Events to create a daily pending approvals prompt with an “Approve”, “Deny”, and “Show Me My Approvals” button.
  2. We don’t want any lingering approvals more than 30 days in our system and we’ve had many users ask to see if they can see approvals older than 30 days that are still pending.

Ah I see. Okay yes, I would track this as two feature requests.

  1. Ability to start the Approvals Queue experience from an Creator Studio Event-Triggered Path
  2. Ability to Customize the Lookback Period of the Approvals Queue to 180 days

I’ll rename this FR for you. Unfortunately neither of these are currently possible, but we’ll take it under advisement for our roadmap. We are thinking about investing more in notifications during the second half of the year, so I’ll keep this in mind (cc: @yagarwal

@Alex.Ladines if you want to create a second feature request to track the lookback period cusotmization, that would be great.
