Webhook-Triggered Notifications to Employee Communications Groups

Does Moveworks expose a supported API, built-in Agent Studio action, or Events Workspace integration that allows a webhook-triggered Ambient Agent to send a message to an existing Employee Communications distribution-group audience, using the audience's group identifier rather than individual employee email addresses?

Hi @nityam.bhardwaj,

Employee Communications distribution group audiences are sourced from Entra, Okta or some other IDP, typically.

This can be recreated in Agent Studio using an Ambient Agent, as you mentioned. The flow of this use case would be the following:

  1. A webhook listener is triggered that kicks off a compound action.
  2. This compound action can make an API call to your IDP to get the specific distribution group.
  3. Loop through all the users in the distribution group, use mw.get_user_by_email to get each user’s MW UUID, and then use Notify to send each user a message.

In this example, we do need the email address from the distribution group list, as we'll use that to get their Moveworks UUID, which is then used for the notification. Can you expand a bit more on why we do not want to use the email address in this flow?

Let me know if this is helpful!

Best,

Ryan
