Hey Developers!

Last week we kicked off our very first Developer Office Hours and wow – the energy was 🔥 many of you showed up live, we crushed a bunch of real-world questions you submitted ahead of time, and we even squeezed in a live demo of the brand-new File Slots feature that just dropped into Limited Preview.

Here were the hottest topics we tackled together:

  1. Slot descriptions & smart defaults
→ How to make the assistant infer “today” vs “tomorrow” timestamps without always prompting the user (hint: clever slot description + decision policy + DSL date functions = 🤝)

  2. OAuth 2.0 user consent flows (Google Workspace, GitHub, etc.)
→ Live walkthrough of the authorization-code grant + the exact connector settings you need so your agents can act on behalf of real end-users

  3. Dynamic slot resolvers & output mappers
    →
Why you should always be aware of the API response structure and point to a list and how to cleanly map only the fields you actually want to show the user.

  4. Timezone handling in calendar plugins
→ Quick tip: use meta_info.user.timezone instead of letting everything fall back to UTC!

  5. File Slots – the star of the show 🆕
→ You can now let users upload PDFs, images, CSVs, etc. directly in-chat and pass them straight into your HTTP actions
    → Docs: File Slots
→ Limited Preview is live – sign up HERE!

Big shoutout to everyone who joined live and asked amazing questions. You made this super fun and useful.
